A Spiritual perscription

This last week I have battling being sick and trying to get everything done that was necessary. It was no fun. No one likes being sick. To overcome it though what do we do?  We take medicine. We eat different things and drink lots of liquids. We rest our bodies. We go to the doctor, so on and so forth. Everyone knows the routine. Everyone has gone through it one time or another in their life. By doing these things we hope that our bodies will heal and get right back to normal so we can move on. But even though these moments of pain and sickness drive us low they in turn bring us higher and build us stronger.
So how is it that we deal with Spiritual sickness? Just like being physically sick there are things that we can do that will help our spirits bounce back and become stronger then before. So what are these steps?
Prayer. sometimes Fasting. Reading the scriptures, The Book of Mormon and the Bible. We must go to Church, at one of His Churches.  Follow Gods commandments, The 10 commandments, the Law of Chastity and the Word of Wisdom. Listen to council from the Prophets, and many other things. Sometimes we have a spiritual sickness that lasts longer then a few days, sometimes it lasts a long time. When this is the case we much search and ponder out what we need to change in order to "bounce back." I know the more we align our lifes in harmony with how God has asked us to live, we will feel that spiritual sickness disappear. He has given us a way to live. A specific way and we must follow this way. Only by living this way are we truly happy. In some cases we dont know that we are suffering spiritual sickness. But as we live by His way I know that we will recognize something was missing. This is the persciption to overcome spiritual sickness. Let us all turn to Jesus Christ in our deepest and hardest times. He is there for us. He went through it so we know whom to turn to. He is waiting with open arms to heal us of our sickness, whatever it may be.
Faith in Jesus Christ
"11And he shall go forth, suffering pains and aafflictions and btemptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will ctake upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12And he will take upon him adeath, that he may bloose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to csuccor his people according to their infirmities." Alma 7: 11-12

Another Testament of Jesus Christ

Today I would just like to express my great love that I have for the Book of Mormon. Every time I read from it my day is strengthened and I feel the Holy Spirit from our Heavenly Father bearing witness to me that it is true. I have grown to love and admire the stories and the teachings. Just like the Bible it teaches of Jesus Christ and it brings us closer to Him. I know that if we each read it with an open heart and humbly pray on our knees to know if it is true then God will show us through the Holy Spirit that it is true. I know this because I have pleaded with God to show me that it is true, and He never fails me. I have come to know time and time again that it is true. My love for the Book of Mormon grows each and everyday, as I read from it and learn from the teachings and apply it into my everyday life. I would encourage each of you to read from the Book of Mormon, whether it be your first time or your 100th time. I know that you will receive and answer that it is true, and that it will change your life and bring your closer the Jesus Christ then ever before.

"3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Moroni 10:3-5

I add my witness to that of Moroni! Pray, ask God, find out for yourself and you will never regret it!

We are never alone

This morning I read a talk titled "Because of your faith."  Elder Jeffery R Holland is so powerful and bold as he speaks. I felt so much love and realized once again that we really are not alone. Not alone spiritually or physically. There are so many people around the world that love us so much and pray for us, not only members of Jesus Christ's Church but Christians as a whole.
Elder Holland says, "In whatever country you live, however young or inadequate you feel, or however aged or limited you see yourself as being, I testify you are individually loved of God, you are central to the meaning of His work, and you are cherished and prayed for by the presiding officers of His Church."
"My thanks to all you wonderful members of the Church—and legions of good people not of our faith—for proving every day of your life that the pure love of Christ “never faileth.”
We are loved, individually and collectively. We are known on a level no human mind can imagine and cared for each and everyday.  How thankful I am to know that I am never alone. That there are people all over the world and in the Heavens above that love me and that are watching out for me and praying for me daily. Without that love and support surely I would be lost. With that love, I can do all things.
